(INTO) THE MAELSTRÖM was born from the meeting between three musicians and a visual artist with a common concern for live creation with the aim of developing a symbiotic relationship between sound and image. Their motivation is also to create transversality between digital and analog. The outcome is the production of a sensitive, immersive show, an interactivity between the imagination of the artists and that of the spectators. This show acts as a revealer of what lies beneath reality, what is hidden in the interstices of the visible. Visible and invisible, analog and digital, virtual and real, this show questions the possible relationships between these different elements. Music generates virtual images using frequency analysis. These images then become real thanks to the material manipulated in the image flow. The introduction of randomness in the programming of the generated images, the digital manipulation of the sound of the drums and the guitar, provokes the unexpected from which visible others can arise.
This show highlights the different visible elements that escape our gaze, the virtual, the unreal then becomes another reality like a multiplicity of parallel worlds.
